Till the End of Time [Chapter 25 Part 3]
**Sorry it took so long…I′ve had a lot of schoolwork and crap ughhhh.**
KEVIN: Okay… well I was going to take you to this little place in Autumn Park… *He proceeds to explain his plan to her. As he does so, her face lights up and she looks incredulous.*
PAIGE: Are you sure we are allowed to do that?
KEVIN: Of course! My dad used to take Joe, Nick and I there once a year when we came down the shore in the summer when we lived in New Jersey! It′ll be really fun, I promise.
PAIGE: *Looking excited.* Okay, I′m all for it. But don’t forget to pick me up in the morning and drive me to work…otherwise I′ll get in trouble with Charlie!
KEVIN: No problem. Now come on!
*Kevin and Paige get delicately into Kevin’s car, trying not to get flour everywhere. They are unsuccessful. By the time they arrive at Autumn Park (a tree-filled, grassy park at the Jersey shore), the leather seats of Kevin’s jeep have turned white, and floury footprints cover the floor. Ignoring the mess, Kevin leads Paige into the park, past a pond, through a thicket of trees, and along a path. Finally, in what seems to be the middle of a forest, they come to a clearing. But instead of the carpet of grass that covers everywhere else in the park, the clearing is a giant stretch of mud.*
KEVIN: *Turning to Paige as they stand on the edge of the muddy mess.* Are you ready?
PAIGE: *Looking up at him, her eyes blazing with adventure.* Yeah, lets do this!
*Kevin grabs Paige’s hand.*
KEVIN: On the count of three. One.
PAIGE: Two.
KEVIN AND PAIGE: THREE!
*Gripping tight to each other’s hands, they sprint forward and dive forward into the mud. It’s wet enough to carry them a full four feet before they squelch to a stop, laughing hysterically.*
PAIGE: *Standing up and pulling Kevin with her.* Come on! Lets do that again!
*Laughing, he follows her, and dive into the sludge for a second time. This time, because they are already slippery, they manage to make it six feet. Brynn looks over and sees Kevin wiping slime out of his eyes, and gets an idea. Before he knows what’s happening, she rolls over on top of him, pushing him even further into the mud. As she cracks up and lies facedown on his stomach, he takes advantage of the moment and pushes off the ground so she falls into an even deeper mud puddle. Laughing, she tries to get up, but is “sucked″ back into the puddle. Their feet stick in the ground as they try to wrestle, giggling the entire time.*
*About twenty minutes later.*
KEVIN: Okay, I can honestly say I have never been this dirty.
PAIGE: But I thought you said your dad used to take you and your brothers here when…
KEVIN: When we weren’t covered in flour already! I feel like I′m wearing a surfing wetsuit!
PAIGE: *Giggling.* You look like a sea monster!
KEVIN: Hey, you’re not Miss America yourself right now, I wouldn’t be talking!
PAIGE: Hey!
KEVIN: Just kidding Paige. You look beautiful, as usual.
PAIGE: *Looking down at her mud-covered body.* Okay, beautiful might be going a little far…
KEVIN: Uniquely beautiful.
PAIGE: Why thank you, Kevin. *Smiling at him.* Do you think we should be getting back now? I mean…its getting dark.
KEVIN: Yeah, my brothers will probably be wondering where I am.
*They walk back to Kevin’s car and got in recklessly this time. There was no way they were going to be able to keep the car clean after this! When Kevin got to Paige’s house, he pulled up to the curb and parked the car, deciding to walk her up to the door. They say goodnight and Kevin hugs Paige. When they pull back, their shirts stick to each other because of all the mud. Peeling themselves away from each other (literally!), they cant help but crack up. They are still laughing when Kevin gets back into his car and looks back at Paige, who is smiling and waving at him from her porch. He waves back and puts the car into gear, pulling away and heading back to his house.*
